Projects in Central Chile

Karte von ChileThe habitat of the Humboldt Penguin lies on islands near the coast of Peru and Chile between the fourth and fortieth degrees southern latitude. This is where they breed and hunt.

In Central Chile, Sphenisco cooperates with the Municipal Museum of Natural History in San Antonio under the direction of José Luis Brito. The team of the Natural History Museum sees about
the everyday care and fostering of ill and injured animals and organizes environmental education at schools of the surrounding fishing villages. Moreover, they enable fast intervention in case of illegal keeping of animals and take care of ecological habitat conservation.

Further information, current developments, and other activities of Sphenisco in Central Chile can be found on the navigation board on the left side of our homepage.
